Cruise Nights

The Village of Tinley Park hosts Cruise Nights from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays from May to August in Downtown Tinley. The free event features classic cars on display, food and beverages for sale and live DJ music. Cruise Nights are presented by Tinley Park V.F.W. Post 2791.

Street Closure Information
In past years, southbound Oak Park Avenue has remained open to traffic throughout the event. Beginning this year, due to public safety concerns, both northbound and southbound Oak Park Avenue will be closed from 171st Street to North Street from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. for each Cruise Night.

Businesses and Residents along Oak Park Ave from 171st to North Streets
The Village has designed a new event layout to help minimize the impact to residents, businesses and customers along the closed street. Southbound Oak Park Avenue - from 171st Street to the public parking lot adjacent to Subway Sandwich Shop - will be accessible for residents and businesses. Vehicles that display the previously mailed Authorized Vehicle Card, which should be displayed on the left side of the dashboard, will be granted access to southbound Oak Park Avenue up to that lot. Please send your customers to the designated detours for available parking. Parking will be available for resident and business/customer parking in the lot adjacent to Subway and in the lot behind 17208-17216 Oak Park Ave. Please note that Oak Park Avenue will be completely closed from the Subway lot to North Street where show cars will be parked along both sides of the street. Please refer to the event map for more details.

Cruise Night Show Cars
Oak Park Avenue will be closed to through traffic from 171st to North streets beginning at 4:30 p.m. Show cars must enter the event from 171st Street and proceed south, filling available spots from south to north along OPA. While all show cars must park facing south, the west side of the street will accommodate parallel parking, and the east side will accommodate parking at a 45-degree angle. Southbound OPA will be open for residents and businesses along this stretch until the public parking lot by Subway. OPA from Subway to North Street will be completely closed except for show car parking. Northbound OPA will be closed from 171st to North streets for show car parking. There will be no show car parking allowed in the lot adjacent to Subway Sandwich Shop. Once OPA is full, overflow parking will be available in the northwest Metra lot and on 173rd Street.

Because Oak Park Ave will be closed from North Street to 171st Street, detours have been arranged according to the map provided. Eastbound and westbound North Street will remain open this year.
