Peer Jury
The Tinley Park Police Department has an alternative program, the Peer Jury Program, for juveniles who have contact with the police within the community. The program is conducted by students in eighth to 12th grades. They hear non-violent crimes that are committed within the community by juvenile offenders and determine the type of punishment the juvenile offender receives for their crime. The benefits of this program are a positive, remedial experience; the avoidance of a court hearing, and the benefit of having the child’s case handled at the station level.
Please note that the Peer Jury program is on hold at this time. For more information, please contact Detective Heather Trinidad at (708) 444-5330.
