80th Avenue Reconstruction (6/15/07)
Lane closures for reconstruction of 80th Avenue between 174th Street to just south of Dooneen began Friday, June 15. This Cook County project includes the removal and reconstruction of all four lanes, including the curb and gutter, median and related storm sewers.
The first phase of construction will address the two southbound lanes. Traffic will be detoured from the two southbound lanes of 80th Avenue to the northbound side beginning Friday, creating two-way traffic on these lanes. Access to 174th Street will be limited to local traffic only with the intersection partially barricaded for construction on the north half of the street. Construction on this phase is scheduled to begin June 18 and is expected to take approximately 20 days.
Immediately following the reconstruction of the southbound lanes, all traffic will be switched to the southbound lanes (two-way traffic) to allow work to begin on the northbound lanes. Access to 174th Street will be fully restored during this phase of construction.
Construction of this final phase is expected to take approximately 20 days. Total estimated construction is approximately 40 days.

control.
183rd Street Road Widening Delayed (06/01/06)
The time frame for construction to begin is pending the State of Illinois release of the funding that is budgeted
for this project. The funding has been approved and is committed. However, it is unlikely that it will be released until
after January 1, 2007. As such, construction on the road widening will not commence this fall as was originally planned. In the meantime, the Village will continue to oversee the contractor relocating water mains along 183rd Street.
