2016 Poster Contest
Poster Contest Winners 2016.jpg

The Tinley Park Fire Department and the Tinley Park Fire Prevention Bureau recently honored students and faculty from area schools for their participation in an annual poster contest held every October during Fire Prevention Month.

The schools first chose frontrunners best depicting the 2016 theme “Don’t Wait, Check the Date!” by grade. Nominations were then brought to Fire Station No. 1, where citizen and Village employee votes determined the overall winners in each age group and then picked a Grand Prize winner from among them. All winners were honored during an awards ceremony and dinner at Harald Viking Lodge and received a Target gift card.

Chance Swick, a third-grade student at Millennium School, was the Grand Prize winner as well as the third-grade overall winner. Other winners included:

Kindergarten: Cecelia Coyne (McAuliffe School)
First Grade: Sadeen Barakat (Bannes School)
Second Grade: Maddeline Sosa (Memorial School)
Fourth Grade: Larissa Meyer (Memorial School)
Fifth Grade: Cori Rybczyk (St. George School)
Sixth Grade: Yasmeen Judeh (Grissom Middle School)
Seventh Grade: Caitlin McGrath (Grissom Middle School)
Eighth Grade: Innis Martinez (Prairie View Middle School)
High School Art Student: Dana Miller (Tinley Park High School)
Faculty: Nancy Allen (Bannes School)

Congratulations to all who participated!
