Downtown Tinley will be the place to be from Friday, Dec. 2 to Sunday, Dec. 4 when the Village presents its free Holiday Happenings event for the whole family. The weekend includes the Mayor's Tree-Lighting Ceremony, the Tinley Toyland Parade, the Parade of Lights, photos with Santa, carriage rides, an ice carving demonstration, campfires, live entertainment, the popular Holiday Market and much more! Bring the family out for Photos with Bunny in March at the Oak Park Avenue Metra train station, 6700 South Street, Tinley Park. Come out to have your photo taken with the big guy himself! Please bring your own camera.
The annual Discover Tinley Expo is held in April at the Tinley Park Convention Center. The event showcases the community's business and nonprofit organizations, as well as its government services. Visit Discover Tinley to learn more about what your Village has to offer. This free event features entertainment, food samples and giveaways at many of the booths.
The Caribbean Block Party takes place every summer along Oak Park Avenue from 171st to Hickory streets and features live music, food and free family fun such as a sand sculptor, a bean bag tournament, rides and inflatables, KidZone activities and a classic car show. Attendees can take a free trolley ride to the event from the 80th Avenue train station. Please keep in mind that the Caribbean Block Party is not a pet-friendly event. Caribbean Block Party
National Night Out
Join the Tinley Park Police Department at this annual, award-winning event every August in Zabrocki Plaza. Attendees can meet and greet members of Tinley Park’s Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Management Agency and Public Works Department, as well as view the many Village-owned vehicles on display.
Friday Frolics is held from 6 to 9 p.m. select Fridays during the summer along Oak Park Avenue in Downtown Tinley! Events feature entertainment with themed activities, performers, and food and drink specials. We hope to see you there!
Are you a classic car or hot rod owner or fan? Show them off or just view them on Tuesdays during the summer months along downtown Oak Park Avenue between 171st Street and 173rd Place.
Music in the Plaza
Be ready to clap your hands and tap your toes! The 2017 Music in the Plaza concert series will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on select Saturdays during the summer at Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park. Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets! Please keep in mind that Music in the Plaza is not a pet-friendly event.

Benches on the Avenue
The Village will host its 14th annual Benches on the Avenue public art program in 2017 along Oak Park Avenue from 172nd to 176th streets. Benches are created by both amateur and professional artists. The program has become one of the Village's most popular attractions, drawing thousands of residents and visitors annually to the downtown area. Fire Prevention Month
Each year in October, the Tinley Park Fire Department and Prevention Bureau highlight fire prevention education, which culminates in the Fire Prevention Week Open House.
The annual Downtown Tinley Boo Bash takes place every year in October at the Oak Park Avenue train station and is great fun for families with young children.
