The penalty process
Delinquent water bills occur when a resident does not pay their bill within 25 days (20 days for billing dates prior to April 1, 2016), unless the 25th is a Sunday or a holiday. If the payment is not received by the 25th, a late charge is applied on the 26th.
Late notices are sent by the 27th of the same month the payment was due, and delinquent payment is due within 20 days. If after that time the bill is still not paid, a red card is placed on the front door of the property to indicate that the water service will be shut off within 72 hours. Please make and keep appointments to avoid an additional turn-on fee of $25 if your water is shut off.
