Plan Commission

The Plan Commission was created to ensure that adequate provisions are made for the preparation of a comprehensive Village plan for the guidance, direction and control of the growth and development of the community. Commissioners are charged with preparing and recommending to the Village Board a comprehensive plan for the present and future development of the Village (and contiguous unincorporated territory not more than 1 ½ miles beyond the corporate limits of the Village and not included in any other municipality). The commission may recommend to designate land suitable for annexation (and recommended the zoning classification for such land upon annexation).

NOTE: The Village Board passed Ordinance 2021-O-53 amending Chapter 32 of the Village Code (Zoning Board of Appeals) to establish concurrent membership of Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. The members of the Plan Commission shall also serve as members of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and the chair of the Plan Commission shall also serve as the chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Plan Commission meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Thursday of the month in the Council Chambers at Tinley Park Village Hall, 16250 S. Oak Park Ave.

Public Hearings are held when a property owner requests zoning entitlement actions such as a request for annexations, a Planned Unit Development, zoning, Special Use permits and zoning variances. Agendas, minutes, public hearing notices and meeting presentations are posted on the Village website.
