Memorial Day Ceremony

Where: Gen. Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza

The Village of Tinley Park and the Tinley Park Veterans Commission host the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Gen. Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza each May. Events include patriotic music, short speeches, a wreath-laying ceremony and a gun salute.
Benches on the AvenueWhen: May to October
Where: Along Oak Park Avenue from 172nd to 174th streets

The Village hosts its Benches on the Avenue public art program each year along Oak Park Avenue from 172nd to 176th streets. The program, which features benches created by amateur and professional artists, has become one of the Village's most popular attractions. Farmers MarketWhen: Saturdays  |  8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  |  June to October

Visit the Tinley Park Farmers Market for the best selection of fruits, vegetables and fresh flowers! The Farmers Market also has live music, yoga, and other activities that are fun for the whole family.
Ale Trail TrolleyWhen: Wednesdays  |  5 to 10 p.m.  |  June 3 to Aug. 26
Where: Various establishments throughout Tinley Park

The Tinley Park Ale Trail Trolley runs during the summer, with a special Ghouls Night out event for Halloween in late October. Two trolleys make the rounds at some of Tinley Park's best bars and restaurants. Learn more on the Ale Trail Trolley page.

Where: Along Oak Park Avenue from 171st Street and 173rd Place

Come to Downtown Tinley Cruise Nights on Tuesdays during the summer in Downtown Tinley for a classic car show with no entry fee, food and beverages for sale and DJ music. Cruise Nights presented by Tinley Park V.F.W. Post 2791. See the Cruise Nights page for more information.

Where: Freedom Park, 7835 Timber Drive

Join the Tinley Park Police Department at National Night Out, an annual, award-winning event every August. Attendees can meet and greet members of Tinley Park’s Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Management Agency and Public Works Department, as well as view the many Village-owned vehicles on display. Other activities include family entertainment and booths from local businesses.

The Tinley Park Fire Department and the nationally accredited Tinley Park Fire Prevention Bureau hosts its annual open house at Fire Station 46, 17355 S. 68th Court. The open house features fire safety drills, the Junior Firefighter Challenge, CPR training and more.
Costumed Children at the Tinley Park Boo BashWhen: Noon to 4 p.m.  |  Sunday, Oct. 25

Veterans Playing the TrumpetWhen: 10 to 11 a.m.  |  Tuesday, Nov. 11
Where: Gen. Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza

The Village of Tinley Park and the Tinley Park Veterans Commission host the annual Veterans Day Ceremony every November at the Gen. Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza. Honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice and those who were willing to in service of the United States. The ceremony includes patriotic music, short speeches and a gun salute.

Officials will light the Village's brand-new 44-foot Christmas tree to officially kick off the holiday season! Arrive early for a sing-a-long to holiday music at 5:30 p.m. Dress warmly!
Mickey and Minnie at Holiday MarketWhen: Dec. 5 & Dec. 6, 2026
Where: Harmony Square, 6700 North St.

Stroll into the cozy warmth of a heated tent and shop for unique handmade crafts and creations. Enjoy tasty treats and live music by local groups and entertainers. Parade of LightsWhen: Sunday, Dec. 6
Where: Viewing area at 175th Street along Oak Park Avenue

The Parade of Lights will march north down Oak Park Avenue from 175th Street to the Subway parking lot. The parade includes festive floats, vehicles, local businesses, community groups and school bands displaying the spirit of the season. A few very special guests from the North Pole will be making an appearance!
