Irish Parade virtual map available

If you’re planning on attending the Tinley Park Irish Parade on Sunday, March 8 along Oak Park Avenue, be sure to check out an interactive virtual map for details on many of the events going on that day, including all the delicious Irish fare and fun at the many Downtown Tinley restaurants.

The parade, which will be led by Grand Marshal Steve Dolinsky, host of the “Hungry Hound” series on ABC7, will step off at 1 p.m. from Central Middle School and march north down Oak Park Avenue. Watch as dozens of floats, community groups, local schools and businesses show the spirit of St. Patrick's Day with colorful attire and lively music. The viewing area for the parade will be from 179th to 172nd streets.

Immediately following the parade, attendees can stop by Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave., for a performance by the Medinah Highlanders Pipe and Drum Band, a photo op with the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, and sponsor booths including Lisa Thomas Salon, Ken Anderson State Farm Insurance, Window Works and Vrdolyak Law Group.

Those interested in participating in the parade can download and submit the Irish Parade Entry Form, available on the Special Events page of the Village website. Entries are due Feb. 24 or whenever the Village reaches its maximum number of participants.
