Utility bills are issued quarterly on the first of the month and are due within 25 days, unless the 25th is a Sunday or a holiday, in which case the due date is shifted to the next business day.
If payment is not received by the due date, a late penalty of 5% is added to the account. A Late Notice bill will be mailed reflecting the additional charge. Payment of the Late Notice bill is due no more than 20 days of the original due date.
Approximately 10 days after the due date of the Late Notice bill, a Discontinuation of Service notice will be mailed by Priority Mail indicating the proposed date that service will be turned off if payment still has not been received. (This mailed notice replaces the “Red Card” that formerly was hand delivered to the delinquent service address.) An additional $25 Disconnection Notice fee will be assessed to the account.
If payment is not made by the date indicated in the Disconnection of Service notice, the water service will be scheduled for shut off. To restore service that has been disconnected, all outstanding charges must be paid, including a $150 Reinstatement of Service fee. Please note that restoration of disconnected services are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. A responsible adult must be present at the service address for the water to be turned back on.
Please note that the Village’s field employees are not permitted to accept payments. Payments can be made at the Village Hall, Police Department or online at services.tinleypark.org. Residents also can visit the Village's Utility Billing page for information on enrollment in the Village’s EZ Pay automatic payment program, or for email delivery of utility billings.
